Goals from Jordan Henderson, Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka completed a comprehensive 3-0 win for England, who along with the Netherlands and Croatia are the only teams who remain unbeaten at 2022 Qatar.

The quarter final between England and France will be played on 10 December 2022 at Al Bayt Stadium kicking off at 2:00 pm ET / 11:00 am PT.

Old foes

England and France have met many times since the first meeting, a friendly, almost a century ago. In total, the two nations have crossed paths 31 timesnine times in official competition and 23 times in friendlies.

They have had two previous encounters during the World Cup finals – in 1966, they started in the same group – England won that match 2-0 courtesy of a Roger Hunt brace.

They landed in the same group again at Spain 82 and once again England prevailed, beating their French neighbours 3-1 in Bilbao – the late Paul Mariner putting the game to bed late on.
