Can Brazil get back to winning ways against the Dominican Republic?
Brazil are five-time winners of the U20 World Cup, most recently in 2011. Ramon Menezes’ men came into the tournament in good shape: unbeaten in 12 – a sequence that stretches back to November 2021 – and were crowned kings of South America at February’s CONMEBOL U20 Championship.
However they were undone by Italy in their opening game of this tournament, losing 3-2 to the European side. That result, coupled with Nigeria’s win over Italy, means that Brazil can not afford a slip up against the Dominican team.
